Some people say that you're defined by your actions. But I think that what really defines a person is their fandoms. In each of my favourite characters I find a piece of myself. Most of the time I'm a dreamer like Luna Lovegood and it's hard to get me back to the ground. By the same time I have this great ability, just like House does, to ignore what everyone else thinks of me. I tend to be stubborn as Jo Harvelle, antisocial like Castiel or have completely mad ideas like Jack Sparrow. With all of that I can't get rid of this stupid need of saving everyone and forgetting about myself like James Wilson or Merlin do. I'm not saying I'm like each of them - it's only somehow easier to get to know yourself when you look at your features that others have too.

My world consists of small things that individually might seem irrelevant or silly, but together they create the space where I feel just comfortable. I can't imagine my life without my family and even though I left my home city and moved to Warsaw to study polish philology I still most often talk to them. I don't make friends easily, but in every place that I stay for a longer time I have someone that I can rely on. That's why I have so many friends that I know only from the Internet and that I haven't met personally yet. I'm not talented in anything (except for eating and making mess of my life), but I'm just unable to live without writing and playing the piano. I actually hope the first thing might bring me some profit in the future, as my studies are definitely not going to bring me anything (but I still love them ♥). Just as much as I need oxygen to breathe, I need music to feel. And of course I can't live without my fandoms, my fictional friends and places, but about that... |
Maybe it's pitiful to call fandoms my second life, to cry after my favourite character had been killed or to consider fictional characters my friends, but if it brings one so much joy then who cares?
